Chocaholism and Night Eating

I haven't been doing so great the past few days. Lately, I have been feeling an uncontrollable need for chocolate- like all the time. Something is wrong here. And its not helping me in my journey. Also, does anyone else have a problem with eating at night? I have always struggled with this. I usually eat very healthy all day long, and then something crazy happens around 8pm or so. I just lose all control. Am I alone here? I really believe that if I could stop eating in the evening, I would not struggle with my weight at all.
So... does anyone have suggestions? How do you keep from eating too much at night?

I totally have a problem with eating at night too- I just really feel the need for dessert every night and lose control too. So, I don't have any advice, unless you can get sugar free pudding or jello and feel satisfied for dessert.

So in my road to health and weight loss I've learned so many little things that would help. They wouldn't necessarily get rid of night eating, but i don't think the night eating is the problem. Anyway I'll send you a message via facebook with some of the stuff i do cus otherwise this will be the longest comment ever! ps I've almost lost 30 lbs now so i swear whatever i'm doing is working, and i've even totally slacked in going to the gym lately.

I tend to snack at night too, so every time I go in the kitchen I just take a drink of water. There is one problem. I wake up in the middle of the night and have to go potty!

(And no, this trick doesn't work all the time.)

well whenever i get that late night hunger i always go straight for the fruit snacks. sometimes their curious george and sometimes their disney princess but then on crazy nights their sharks, and those are the ones that are packed with calories. so don't eat sharks but fruit snacks are great low cal fillers to satisfy those late night cravings

Amen. I am a chocoholic for sure. My mom is worse than me. She says what helps her is eating the dark dark stuff. 75% cacoa or more. When I first tried the stuff I thought it tasted like a vitamin, but now i really like it. She likes it cause in addition to satisfying her chocolate craving it has some other good side health benefits. As for the late night eating bad, I struggle with that too. Sometimes I just have to tell myself no eating after 9, and then move it up a half hour the next week (8:30,) and a half hour the week after that(8:00) and so on. The small progression helps me. And...one more thing to this novel.
Eat bad foods only on saturday (ie:taco bell, french fries, candy etc.) It's pretty easy to be dying for chocolate chip cookies wednesday and just tell yourself you can have them on saturday. Then you don't deprive yourself. For the first few months I did this I ate a TON of junk food on the weekends. But slowly over time you just don't really crave the bad stuff anymore. But if there was a saturday that I wanted chocolate and cookies I didn't feel bad about eating 24 cookies, 3 candy bars, and a cheeseburger for dinner...wow that was long.
